Gone are the days when an Umrah visa and flight ticket were all you needed. Since mid‑2025, the Nusuk platform has become essential. Pilgrims now need verified hotel bookings, transport plans, and permit slots, all coordinated through Nusuk.
1. Complete Package RequirementAs of June 10, 2025
Saudi Arabia requires a full Umrah package including flight, hotel reservation, and transportation. This must be done via Nusuk Masar for visa approval.
Solo visa applications are no longer accepted. “Visa-only” submissions are rejected or delayed.
2. Hotel Booking Verified Through Nusuk
Only hotels listed within Nusuk are acceptable. Standalone hotel choices or unregistered stays are not allowed.
Hotel reservations must cover your entire stay and must be approved and licensed by the Saudi Ministry of Tourism.
3. Transport Plans Are Mandatory
Visa applications without transport arrangements are rejected.
You must pre-book transportation such as airport pickup, Makkah to Madinah transfers, and local transit through Nusuk. No exceptions are allowed.
4. Umrah Permit / Time Slot
Slots open periodically (for example, every 30 minutes). Failing to book may lead to checkpoint refusals or delays.
On arrival, pilgrims must secure a time-slot permit via Nusuk to enter the Grand Mosque and perform Umrah.
5. Group Coordination and Visa Fees
Group members must share the same hotel and transport. Visa fees vary depending on vehicle type and passenger count.
Individual travelers must join group or family packages. Solo visas are no longer allowed.
6. Additional Requirements & Perks
- Vaccinations, travel insurance (including COVID‑19 coverage), passport validity, and biometric enrollment are mandatory.
- The new Umrah visa is valid for up to 90 days, but rituals must be completed within 30 days of entry.
- Women over 18 can now perform Umrah in groups without a mahram. However, solo travel may still require embassy approval.
- Pilgrims may also extend visas via Nusuk. Transit visa holders are allowed a 4-day Umrah window.
Why These Changes?
These reforms are part of Saudi Vision 2030. The goal is to promote professional religious tourism, reduce fraud, improve crowd management, and enhance pilgrim safety.
